Summari is sunsetting its Chrome extension

Summari
February 1, 2023

We are making some big changes to the Summari product suite.

  • Our consumer applications are being turned off. This means the existing Summari applications (Chrome extension, Slack, iOS & Android apps, and the web app) will not be able to request summaries
  • We are launching Link Previews for content publishers
  • We are launching an API for different summarization use cases

Using Summari going forward

If you are using Summari and want to still have access to our best-in-class summarization service, we recommend using the API. It is a simple to use service that can be attached to many no code products to produce an equal or better experience than the products being shut down. We have upgraded the underlying AI models to improve accuracy and increase speed. We have also implemented specific services for different types of content (Transcripts, Product Reviews, Editorial Short, and Editorial Detailed - more coming soon) because each of these requires a different type of output to be a useful summary.

If you are a Twitter user, you can also request a summary of a shared link. Reply to a tweeted article link with “@getsummari summarize” and we’ll reply with a short summary in a thread.

Thank you for all the support you’ve given us over the past year. We have learned so much and are really excited about what the future looks like at Summari.
